The world is sometimes a scary place for members of our LGBTQ2S+ community. They experience bullying, harassment, and sometimes become victims of crime, targeted for simply being who they are.
The VPD Safe Place program offers people shelter if they are feeling unsafe — a place where they will be welcomed, they can call police, and wait until officers arrive.
If you are a business, school, or other institution that wants to take part in this program and help make everyone feel safe in Vancouver, join the VPD Safe Place program. By placing a decal in your window, you will be clearly identifying your premise as a safe haven for members of our LGBTQ2S+ community.
Mission
The mission of the VPD Safe Place initiative is to increase safety for the members of the LGBTQ2S+ community by providing a safe place if they are a victim of crime or have any concern for their personal safety.
